Do you have a cracked or broken tooth, or are you suffering from a toothache? Gage Park Dental offers emergency dental care services to Hamilton residents. You don't have to be an existing patient; we welcome new patients and we'll try to see you on the same day you call. With dental emergencies it’s important to get care quickly as that can make the difference in saving a tooth. If you have a dental emergency call our office right away.
While you wait for treatment there are a few things you can do to ease your discomfort and increase your chances of saving a tooth. Over-the-counter painkillers such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen can help relieve pain, as can a cold compress or ice pack applied to the area.
If you lose a tooth, you can increase the chances of the tooth being saved by placing it back in the socket. If this is impossible, or if the tooth is broken, place it in a container of cold milk and bring it into the office with you.
If you lose a filling, make sure there are no pieces of the broken filling left in your mouth, and try filling the hole with a small piece of chewed sugarless gum.
If your mouth and jaw is very swollen and you are experiencing severe pain, contact us right away. If you are unable to reach our office, contact your family doctor or go to the emergency room.
If you suffer from a dental emergency, don't hesitate to contact our office for help.
